supported by dubfire, kombinat100, dan curtin, shinedoe, ed 2000, benno blome, dubnitzky and many more... slowly but constantly days are getting longer again and clothes become shorter and shorter. green is sprouting on the acres around and acker records delivers the perfect soundtrack for the euphoric hormone cocktail of the first warm days in spring: endlich frühling means nothing else but finally spring and that is exactly what its all about: the title song comes with plenty of cosy but pushing boost in its lower sections , above that some driving percussion and dreamy , playful melodies unfold. subtle string entries underline the very positive flow of this track. on the flipside rundfunk 3000 take up the idea of the original and add a proper pinch of melodica sounds. the result presents much more song character and is perfectly appropriate for late afternoon dance floors as well as a stimulating breakfast on the balcony. finally the track rabulka features a pretty different style: very driving bass sounds, various rhythmic elements and dubby melodies evolve an astonishing deepness. this is for the spring time!
mxm (short for maxim) is a fresh talent from the uk. he released music on hydrogen dukebox, combination records and snap shot. he also got future projects with linkwood (firecracker, prime numbers) coming soon. on philpot he delivers two versions of the chord driven move me track feat. jemima! a great, deep vocal anthem for the earlier hours of your set. on the flip, the first track the untitled deep is an absolute stunning electro track in the truest form of its meaning. like an update of early cybotron with a bassline that kills and keys to put a smile on your face! the last track called jazz seducer chops some nice piano chords over a funk laden beat, simple and plain...great!

Hello? Repeat Records
after recently releasing astonishing records on vakant & kalk pets, dewalta is hitting now even more dynamic and powerful the springtime floors. back on his motherlabel with great & unusual music and we dare to say that it is our favorite release of him so farà >saluki< starts straight with a crafty bass driven smooth rocket and build its self up alongside a guiding piano loop to reach very atmospheric frictions. soft choir singing here and there, various dub sounds brushing in the space, bringing all sound aficionados into a beautiful ride. dewaltas crispy rhythms are eventually fading out into melancholic and moving detroitish strings, to complete this unique piece of music. >shagya< on the flipside is a self-developing carnevalesque odyssey. its such a profound & delicious kickdrum, tightened with an extraordinary bass presence, its simply irresistible not to groove happily on that one. all is enriched with polyphonic balafon rhythms and hilarious african rooted chants - this is the energetic tool for those special intimate moments. a perfect track when lust and familiarity is present within the crowd and we consider time as officially end.

TOUT LE TEMPS

although jaxson and keno both have successful solo projects and have previously worked together before, this collaboration is bound to be their most notable release yet. a fusion of house, funk, latin and techno, all meet at the crossroads of their studios for a 4 track ep of sundry beats and fresh flavors. clearly the a-side, >tout le temps< is comprised of a clever hook and a hazy latino vocal sample, which carries the initial groove right into an originally played synth section. a good example of a refreshing approach to adding effects and using sounds. >tarantella< as the title might suggest, one might expect a track that would scare the living day lights out of you, but it has more of a >creeping up from behind you< sort of vibe. a subtlety creeping groove subliminally enters your unconscious mind carrying a secret message. what is that message you ask? dance! the congas on, >red baron< sound so live you can almost here the players licking their fingers. congas might be the groove in the heart of this tune, but the melody of the slick synth stabs and rising strings are what ultimately breath energy and spunk into this roller. >karate kid< initially has a minimal feel, but once the hacked up guitar and vocals come in, you can put those dirty thoughts to rest. abundant with an overwhelming amount of unique and interesting sounds, secure this tunes ability to prick up the ears of finicky djs and clubbers alike. it is rare to find such a wide variation of sound design on your run of the mill ep, but kindisch has proved they are not an ordinary label. they are consistently releasing quality tunes and always providing pleasant surprises. some might say it is a clichÚ, but this ep really does have a bit of something that will drive one club or another nuts

markantonio s analytic trail label has been instrumental in creating what is now recognized as the neapolitan techno sound. strongly influenced by their house roots, the labels inventive approach has seen them feature the likes of rino cerrone, valentino kanzyani, the advent, davide squillace and paco osuna. analytic trails its what i like series of ep s has previously featured cuts from a mixture of household names (joy kitikonti, the advent, valentino kanzyani) as well as unearthing some of techno s most exciting new talent. this latest ep focuses on three new names who are making waves with their music. already an emerging name within the naples scene thanks to his work for labels like glowbox and capsula, francesco gemelli typifies the sound of italy with a driving goodtime romp through an array of rubbery tonal synths and acidic bass croatian, vladimir acic has forged a strong reputation playing alongside the techno greats at exit and impressing umek enough to snap up his productions. here he shows why with a fast paced trip through warped flickering tech moods mark morris completes the trio on show on this ep. choosing a style that sits between funked up tech and wobbly minimalism, play with me retains a strong identity with italian techno via a funky bassline but adds a linear restrained vibe.

big time summer release! the sd records imprint has build up a steady name with rock-solid releases that switch easily between genres like techno, house and electro. the overload ep by mark du mosch follows this tradition: it s timeless, deep, warm, melodic and above all, very danceable. titletrack overload is a dancefloor monster with a devastating low end and an almost ravey feel to it. genesis is deep and repetitive with fragments of lost melodies drifting to the surface. summer breeze has the perfect title: it s pure musical sunshine for those warm summernights. the beautiful in the clouds takes off with floating melodies that slowly develop into grooving rhythms. a perfect finishing for a perfect ep that will be in many records bags for a long time coming. summer starts early this year. don t miss it.

minus has released a first rate selection of home grown artist albums over the past 18 months, with heartthrob, false and gaiser all creating long players of real substance and this trend is set to continue in 2009 with arguably the labels most significant release of recent times. louderbachs long awaited second album autumn represents another jump in the evolutionary cycle of minimal techno, having developed from the largely instrumental project that gave us enemy love into a fully-fledged song based outfit. as a result, autumn has a much deeper feel than its predecessor and indeed breaks new ground, with the dark metaphors of gibby millers often chilling vocal performances fitting hand-in-glove with the ominous landscapes and broken architecture that troy pierce constructs so effectively. drawing on shared influences such as bauhaus, coil and joy division, the duo have conceived an album of emotional depth and exquisite detail, appropriating the best elements of these early-eighties pioneers and reinterpreting them through a contemporary lens to achieve a perfect balance of style and content. its the result of an unspoken understanding that spans thousands of miles from their respective homes in l.a. and berlin and this distant intimacy is a naturally occurring theme throughout the album, manifesting itself as dark, twilight tales of melancholy romance, burning obsession and the slow, disintegration of desire

he making of this record inadvertently began in cuba in january 2008. powershovelaudio was recording in la havana some of the best contemporary cuban singers and musicians. the resulting recordings were of an inspiring beauty. the situation was that powershovelaudio had this outstanding collection of voices, woods and brass, all infused by the tropical warmth. it was first-class material that should be put in the best hands possible, then maayan came to mind. ônight longö is a synthetic work. maayan has inexplicably, quickly and with incredible precision captured the essence and the expressivity of the cuban musicians and taken it to a hitherto unknown place. maayan is of course well-known for her diligent talent in inserting voices of quality in her mixes, but in this occasion the result is more than surprising. instead of concentrating in her signature minimal beats, maayan has experimented with different cadences, depths and moods, leaving behind her swirl a disconcerting record of inspired beauty. this art in this record is graced with photography by one of the best and most influential photographers in the world: moriyama daido. maayan asked moriyama san for permission to use the cover image, a request which moriyama san, after listening to the record, gladly accepted

after a recent guest performance on seuils eklo label, michael melchner - the young producer and dj from nuremberg - is back with another stunning ep for cargo edition. melchner is the resident-dj of the kiss klub party series at nurembergs famous club die rakete, and music aficionados will have had their eye on this up-and-coming artist for a while now. this time around michael melchner dishes up three top-notch house tracks for us. you understand is techhouse at its best, where he deftly holds and rides that balance between deepness and the dancefloor. a continously forward-pushing bassline is combined with a mysterious vocal sample and restrained breaks. wooob grabs you with its devastatingly simple rhythm, while the bassline cuts through with a high dose of funk. topping the track off we have a vocal loop that shows off michaels affection to the musical beginnings of house. this ties in nicely with the ep closer »just a skip« which reminisces over the sound of chicago. profound melodies, skillfully arranged vocal samples and a whole heap of soul suggest that michael melchner may just have produced a modern house classic. so again, just like on his first ep for cargo edition in may last year, michael melchner has managed to paint a musical portrait combining the present and the past into one classic moment.

this is a 12inch for the deep heads! smote and gabanna out of slovakia delivers a rolling number with a epic feel to it! smote might be a new name on the scene but he is certanily set to make an impact. with signings to labels like vibez, good looking and now his debut on midnight sun, he is definitley one to keep your eyes and ears peeled on. on slowly down he teams up with long time key player of the slovakian drum&bass scene to create a tune that fits midnight sun recordings perfectly. smooth synths alongside a vocal hook accompanied with crisp beats makes this one a winner! dj support include ltj bukem, nookie, subject 13, physics and laos. on the flipside label boss physics, known for his varied styles and vibes, teams up with london based k.e.z.a for a funky techy roller called insomnia. minimal vibes lead you into a big drop with a heavy sub bass and dark sounds. this tune has been on rotation for awhile on dubplate making it a favorite among men with taste including tc&stress level, s.p.y , soul intent and randall.

remastered with original label artwork. originally released: 1985. basically an italo cover version of klein & mbo/dirty talk, would have been a bad idea at that time - sounds great now!

having forged a keen army of converts to their late night audio nights & establishing a reputation as one of londons best underground parties, it was only a matter of time before they started their own label to release the music they & their party people love to dance to. expect the finest in deep electronic house, balearic boogie and italo flavours, all expertly mastered onto luxurious vinyl with slick graphic artwork. the first artist signed and to be released on the label is french/u.s producer kevin lemonnier recording under the name of das volt. this man uses no plug-ins and a resolutely old skool production philosophy. utilising all analogue signal paths through outboard and vintage gear. his music is justifiably compared to the luxuriously warm and pared down output of metro area, capturing that legendary period between disco & proto house by being a stickler for authenticity. gestures is a modern take on the electro boogie sound, pizzicato strings, silky rhodes and fat bass all blended to create a dance floor gem. fantasy is a modern italo disco classic, with epic pianos setting the mood over a driving trouser flapping bass line. remixes come courtesy of italian outfit telespazio s fabrizio mammarella - who does his deep electro funk thing with immediate dance floor effect, and toby tobias of rekids and late night audio fame, who completes the package with a killer balearic boogie interpretation
